"Just to let you know that I am doing well. Still pain and some discomfort, but that is to be expected. I thank everyone who sent me Get Well cards. Very thoughtful of you.
I went to see two doctors in CO Springs on Monday and Tuesday. Monday I saw the rheumatologists. All went well there. I am to continue to reduce the prednisone. I am down to 10 mgs from 60 mgs. Will gradually decrease to 5. I am to continue the Methotrexate. I saw the surgeon on Tuesday. He said I am doing fine and will see him again in a month. The two most important questions I asked him was if I could drive and swim. He said yes to both. He said that some of the pain I am having is that the nerves are coming back to life. I guess that is a good sign. The other pain is that the 10" by 10" mesh he inserted stretches where it is tied down (the 9 holes in my stomach) when my stomach moves. So all will pass in due time.
I was able to conduct Communion at the Church last Sunday and lead a Cong. meeting. The church is looking for a new pastor and the cong. had to elect a Pastor's Nominating Committee. A very short meeting and I was thankful.
As far as swimming goes, I don't think my stomach muscles nor the mesh stretching will let me do much swimming, but at least I can walk in the water and do other kinds of exercises. I am grateful for that. I will have to experiment.
Blessings to you all. Thank you for the prayers. Always needed. The prayers help so very much."
