Richard "Dick" Albright

February 6, 2010: I married Leota (Cox) Albright in 1958. We have twin daughters and one son, all married, plus six grand daughters and one grand son, ages six to twenty-five. Our oldest granddaughter got married in May, 2009. Another granddaughter is starting medical school in the Philadelphia area in the Fall of 2010, and another is graduating from Oklahoma State in May, heading onto the University of Virginia for a Masters. Two of the girls are in college, one is in high school, and our grandson is in elementary school.

December 1, 1992: I retired after 34 years of refinery work. Leota and I enjoy spending time with our children, grand children, family and many friends. I continue to fish when I get the chance, and spend time in my woodworking workshop. We continue to volunteer at church, help distribute food commodities once a month, and volunteer at our grandson’s elementary school. I even made a nice oak end table for my granddaughter’s high school band fundraising event that took in over $350 at one football game this past fall.

A nice story from the El Dorado Times.
'Green Eggs and Ham' - Wednesday was the National Education Association's "Read Across America" Day - but it has also come to be known as "Dr. Seuss" Day in honor of the famed children's author whose books have been helping children to start getting interested in reading for decades. For nearly 10 years - starting when his grandchildren were in school - Dick Albright has been cooking up "green eggs and ham" (that is the title of one of Dr. Seuss' most famous books) for children at Jefferson Elementary School each March 2. Early Wednesday morning Albright had his griddle set up in the Jefferson hallway assisted by Jefferson parent volunteer Cheri Ogle. - photo by Steve Smith

Once again Dick has earned special recognition for his volunteer efforts. He is a board member of The Coutts Museum of Art in El Dorado and was spotlighted in a recent article (copied here in pdf format).

Good work Dick!
