Wayne's Status

Thanks for Paula Pearson for this latest news: Last week Wayne was supposed to go home, however, a trial run did not prove successful. He is still at Lakepoint while Sharon decides what to do next. Sharon said he is content there for the time being, but assumes it is short term, which may or may not be the case. Marion and Rich visited him recently, and found him in pretty good spirits. More details as we get them.

Juanita Is Home.

Juanita came home from the hospital yesterday and is recovering better than expected. We wish her a speedy and complete recovery!

Juanita's News

From the lady herself: "We have been in Wichita (spent some time with Wayne) and Missouri. We got back home on the 12th. Catching up and resting up has been a struggle. This O' disease I have is cramping my style. But, I will not let it get me down. I'll be going back to surgery on the 28th of August. A hernia has developed above the incision from the surgery I had in January. It is big. I have to wear a belt. The doctors say it is the biggest one they have seen. Leave it up to me to have something silly and unusual to happen."

Wayne's Latest Status

From Juanita: "Wayne is improving, but slowly. The MS disease is his biggest enemy. He's in the Lake Point Nursing and Rehab Center located right off of 13th Street on West Street, Room 907. The address is 1315 North West Street, 67203. He does not have a telephone. We do not know when or if he will go home. Lou and Sharon are taking turns staying with him in the afternoons."

Mary Rogers Update

In Mary's own words: "Everything in my life has gone cock-eyed lately. I'm having radiation treatments for throat cancer and hoping for good results. Won't know for sure for quite some time. Ray is doing as well as possible with only having minimum care from me. I spent some time in and out of hospital and didn't have much contact with anyone. I am feeling pretty good today and haven't had many of those days. I go back to the hospital for more radiation this afternoon."

We all hope for some positive news soon, Mary.

Josephine Heading to Kansas

Sounds almost like a tropical storm forecast, but really it's about Jo and Bernie heading to Kansas later this month. They will be uniting members of the family to take a "five generation picture" at Rose Hill with Jo's mom! Must also be a great opportunity there for a mini class reunion.

Wayne Bacon's Status

As most of us know Wayne fractured his hip on July 12 and has had surgery to put in a steel rod. Recovery has been slow with a few complications. He has now been moved to rehab and plans are to transfer him to a skilled nursing facility. We all wish him a quick recovery!

Something New

This is an experiment to see if a blog is a better way for our classmates to keep up with what's going on within the "family". Please send Jack anything you feel is appropriate to share with other class members (link to email at the bottom of this page). This can include pictures, links to other sites, or just any type of news in general. Naturally we will be most interested in "family" happenings. Happy

And, as usual, I solicit your comments and suggestions for improvements or additions.
